December 2009: Comprehensive’s goal is to prepare all its HBO programs for a successful accreditation survey by the UHMS. There are over 800 HBO programs nationwide and only about 10% are accredited. Comprehensive stands by the safety of its programs and gets to demonstrate that with each program that is awarded accreditation. Our program at Carle Foundation Hospital was not only the first accredited HBO service in the State of Illinois in 2006; it is now the first re-accredited program “with distinction” in the State of Illinois. Only 35 programs in the USA have received that special recognition. The hospital administration received a letter from the survey team to specifically acknowledge the noticeable collaboration between Comprehensive and the client and the successful, seamless blend between staff employed by Comprehensive and staff employed by the Hospital.

January 2010: Comprehensive Healthcare Solutions, Inc. announces the promotion of Kim Yerkes Simonson, RN-BC, CHRN, CWS and Mario Caruso, DMT-A, CHT. Kim and Mario have been with the company for a long time and have inspired other wound care and hyperbaric professionals to be their very best and help heal patients nationwide. Their dedication to quality care and safety has been essential in the creation of quality programs that pass JCAHO and UHMS surveys with flying colors. Kim Yerkes Simonson will be Comprehensive’s Vice President of Clinical Services. Mario Caruso will be Comprehensive’s Vice President of Hyperbaric Services.

June 2010: Comprehensive demonstrates its leadership and commitment to quality hyperbaric care. Kim Yerkes Simonson, RN-BC, CHRN, CWS was awarded the “Best Presentation Award” at the Annual Meeting of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society held in Tampa, Fla June 3-5, 2010. Truly a team effort, the presentation educated the audience on how infections are easily spread in a hyperbaric environment and how to best prevent them.
