Successes
Comprehensive Healthcare Solutions works well with large teaching hospitals, hospitals in urban areas, as well as community and rural hospitals. The key to success is a strong collaborative relationship in which Comprehensive serves as a mentor and guide.
There are several ways to measure a wound and HBO program’s success:
1. Exceeding Pro Forma: The facility meets or exceeds its pro forma projections for the first year. All clients that fully implemented the elements of our program have been able to exceed their pro forma projections. We ensure the pro forma is conservative and well thought out. Comprehensive consistently receives positive feedback from CFOs about the usefulness of the pro forma as a decision making tool.
2. Positive contribution margin: The program meets its “break even” point in the first year and has a positive contribution margin thereafter. All clients that fully implemented the program have been able to achieve a positive contribution margin.
3. Overall healing rate: The program improves its overall healing rate yearly. It is not uncommon to see an overall healing rate in the beginning of 85% but then see it climb to the 95-99 percentile as the team improves using our CQI system. Teams have immediate feedback when they use our electronic medical record called MyWoundChart. The patient’s healing rate is on their finger tips and the overall facility healing rate is a few clicks away. Outcome based care improves quality care.
4. Patient satisfaction scores: While almost every hospital does patient satisfaction surveys and uses different companies to gather the data it is our experience that our wound and HBO program consistently receives 95-99% scores. Comprehensive inspires passion and excitement in a team and patients can see their improvement right on the screen as they look at their pictures, their healing graph, and their overall health targets. They become involved and reflect positively on the care they receive.
